Freedom of Speech.. HA!

So, I just read a report on Yahoo.com about a man who hung his flag upside down. Now, before I continue this blog please understand I'm not supporting his flag hanging, but his overall idea and message.

This man invested over $200,000 in an Italian supper club, as they called it, and was denied a liquor license. I know a lot of you are thinking, "Wow.. Big deal!", well it actually is a big deal. In the restuarant business if you do not have the legal license to to sell alcohol your profit margin is VERY VERY small at best. This man is trying to better his community with a nice place for people to eat at and he can't even get granted a small license. It's not like he's opening a nightclub or something. Why is a little wine with some Italian food such a terrible thing? Anyways, so to protest this he hung the American flag upside down on he 4th of July. Could have pick a better day to do this, but what he did is his man given (that's right. MAN given) right to hang his flag anyway he wants to. He didn't break any laws. He didn't burn the thing. He hung it upside down. The closest thing to illegal they could come up with is that people found it disrespectful and, "It is illegal to cause a disruption." No it isn't. It IS however to disturb the peace. If I walk to my nearest Wal-Mart and scream at the top of my lungs I may have embarrassed myself, but I did NOT break the law.

I salute this man, who is an Iraq war veteran. This man had an opinion that disagreed with the Governments and guess who won? The Government. Shocker. Call me unamerican. Call me ignorant. Call me whatever you want, but in reality who is the REAL unamerican? Who is REALLY ignorant? According to the Constitution of the United States of America this man is allowed to voice his opinion! I support you 100% Vito Congine Jr.!
